Angela Stanton, Anaheim, CA Member Since March 2010 Artist Statement On October 15th, 2012, I was named one of the Best Artistic Photographers of Orange County by CBS: http://losangeles.cbslocal.com/top-lists/best-artistic-photographers-in-orange-county/
I was also fortunate enough to be picked by National Geographic Magazine to be in the Daily Dozen on the 5th week of December 2012, and won the popular vote that week (picture 5 that week). That photo is part of my gallery of photographs on FAA here for purchase.
And finally, as a wedding photographer, I was selected by the brides of Southern California to honor me with the Brides' Choice Award for 2013 by the brides at the WeddingWire.
I am an artistic photographer (weddings, portraits, events, nature, products, fashion, and even commercials) and also a fine art painter, living in Orange County, California, USA. I originally started painting in oil and Tempera over 40 years ago as a child but interrupted my art in order to have my family and to receive a higher education. I started to take digital photography seriously starting 2004 and learned on my own all the technology and also the various software to use to work on my photography and make them into art. It took me 5 years to learn photography inside out to be able to capture artistic images of people as well as nature and all its creatures. Today I am combining the two art forms: photography and painting, with technology (software) to come up with my unique style of art.
I now paint exclusively on computer--this reduces toxic materials in my home and nature (I am a green artist). Painting has never been more fun and more creative with an amazing number of textures and styles possible to combine on the computer and then paint by hand. I now can combine water color with oil in my paintings using materials and styles that would not be possible without technology. The outcome is very pleasing and look just like hand painted art (which they are) only printed.
When you order a print of my painting, it will look exactly like its native counterpart except for the lack of stinky smell and the thick textures of the heavy oil that can be built up when working with fresh oil on canvas. If you prefer to see heavy brush strokes, you can. Contact, me and I can either paint over the print with gels to your liking or create a real hand painted art--gel preferred since it is not toxic. This will require you to order your painting directly form me as 'original art' when available.
