While serving the functional task of covering the radiator, these items became an integral part of the car's design. The design and execution of these ornaments is amazing and this gallery attempts to capture that beauty and artistry.

1936 Pontiac Hood Ornament

The car was one of hundreds on display at the 2009 'Motor Muster' held annually at Greenfield Village in Dearborn, Michigan. The yellow background for this shot came from a 1935 Cadillac which was parked right next to the Pontiac.

This particular mascot is referred to a the ‘Goddess’. The shot was taken at the Auburn-Cord-Duesenberg Museum located in Auburn, Indiana. The museum has a great collection of Auburn, Cord and Duesenberg vehicles (hence the name of the museum) as well as some other vintage cars. The museum is housed in an old Auburn showroom and it located at the original Auburn factory.

The blue background comes from a blue car which was parked next to this one. I thought it made for a nice background to the silver and gold hood ornament.
