The Guitar Man

"The Guitar Man" is an abstract-digital design that I first started working on in 2010 and released in an initial form. I hadn't realized that it was not a finished work at the time. I realized this in 2013 and Remastered it into this present and final form. The guitarist form is based on my favorite musician Phil Keaggy, considered by many to be the supreme overall guitar player alive. Seventh Day Church

I found this place of worship while driving through Perris, California. The church building is an A-frame type structure with a beautiful Gothic-like architecture. The attention to detail is evident and you can tell that lots of time was taken to make sure that it was constructed with care. Someone definitely had a higher vision! A beautiful place to attend a service on the traditional seventh day church gathering. I have treated the original photo with a pencil drawing style finish, with an added simulated texture. Narrow Way To The Light

This image was taken while on a trip through the hill community of Fallbrook, California. This San Diego County area is a beautiful area where art and photography are an intricate fabric of the city. Took this photograph while sliding between the narrow walkway between the old and new buildings to the main part of town. The textures, changes of architecture, light play, and shadows were inviting. I thought some rich tones and grunge would work well to add a sense of grit and mystique to the finish. In The Sanctuary

On a visit to Mission San Luis Rey I captured this scene of the prayer candles before the Blessed Virgin Mary. They represent the intentions of prayer for another person. The lighting and illumination came out wonderful as I worked on the photograph to tone it and age it. I finished it off with a slight texture. The Answer Is Blowin' In The Wind

On my way through some desert hills I viewed this flag standing alone, peeping over a ridge. It almost seemed to have life in itself as the wind kept it fluently waving. I couldn't help but think of that old song penned by Bob Dylan. The answer was certainly blowing right there in the middle of a dry and thirsty desert. Maybe things are changing again for the better! Ronald Reagan once said, "If you're afraid of the future, then get out of the way, stand aside. The people of this country are ready to move again". As of 2012, I hope this is true. When master community plans threatened it the city decided to move it to a new location, along with several other vintage homes. The result was Heritage Square. The Old Water Wheel was an unusual sight, created by the same company that brought us the steam powered automobile! The vintage look of the piece, with it's rust seemingly placed on it by the brush of an artist, and the memories of a different industrial age, was just right for a great outdoor portrait. This old Oak Tree dwarfs a neighborhood home in the San Fernando Valley of California. I would bet that it has been used by many a neighborhood boy and girl for climbing onto the house below. Cathedral Spires

This small Cathedral caught my eye as I was driving down the main road in Perris, California. It was really the side of my eye because it was nestled into an older neighborhood street and I caught it by glance. The ornate work was incredible especially in light of the fact that it was such a tiny property. Unfortunately there were signs of wannabe graffiti artists around the back side and side windows... showing their lack of respect. I hope the Spirit of the one who is being uplifted here will spray paint their heart :) God Bless!

Trigger, Golden Cloud

Trigger, originally named Golden Cloud (1932�3 July 1965) was a 15.3 hands (63 in; 1.60 m) golden palomino, made famous in American Western films with his owner, cowboy star Roy Rogers. Trigger became the most famous horse in film entertainment, even having his own Dell comic book recounting his exploits. There was also a famous old saying: "What a face, what a figure, two more legs and she'll look like Trigger." "Bucky the Bronco," Trigger's twin, stands above the south scoreboard of the Denver Broncos stadium. He was created from this same mold, with the approval of Roy Rogers. The 24 foot mold was afterwards destroyed. This photo was taken at Sunset Hills in Apple Valley with the Sycamore Rocks as a backdrop. Roy Rogers and Dale Evans were well known for their work with children and charitable contributions. God Bless!

Lighting The Way Up

Captured this stairwell just off of Topanga Canyon, California. This old canyon road is a true classic route from the Ocean to the San Fernando Valley. If you love the 60's and 70's this place has been caught in time and has few intentions of changing that style. That is a good thing, and the little off shoot roads can take days to explore. This pathway led to an older home above the road. That light from above seems to be calling. God Bless!

Are You Gonna Leave Me Here

This old Massey-Harris tractor was an ornament being used by a home owner off a dead end road leading to what is called Deep Creek in Hesperia, California. The tractor was built somewhere between the years of 1946-1953. For all intents and purposes the company was sold out in 1958 and really does not exist today. These old tractors are collector items. I just thought it was another piece of interesting American history. And I love the effect of rust! Enjoy! God Bless you....

Beauty With The Beast

Thriving flowers in the garden accentuate the opposite of the aging old wagon that is slowly drying and rusting away. In life the old and the new need to feed off of one another for sustanance, beauty, and balance. Bodie Ghost Town, California

Bodie, California is just one those places that you have to visit to understand what eerie means. Not only did the residents just up and leave, but they left almost all of their worldly belongings behind. Plates are still on the tables, pool tables with the que sticks laying where they were when everyone left. But it's not only that a town that was once at 10,000 population is no longer inhabited, but there are no trees and vegetation. It's like a tundra where people must have frozen during the winter in their strange wooden homes, and suffered through the hot summers with no cooling relief. No wonder the town was known for the many killings, drunkeness and general unruliness. The mine stil has an estimated hundreds of millions of dollars down there somewhere. If you like mystery, this is a great place to visit. This photo was taken with my old Olympus D-550 compact and digitally remastered with the Gimp Photo Manipulation program. God Bless!

Abandoned - California Desert

This was a golden afternoon in Lucerne Valley in California. As you drive through this valley it is obvious that there are many dreams that were abandoned after time. I wondered to myself when the last time this ghost home was inhabited. But the sky was amazingly big and clear during the golden hour! God Bless.

Kahakuloa Church, Maui

The drive around the northern side of Maui is not as hyped as the trip through Hana, but it really yields many treasures. And for anyone who wants to photograph it is a great delight. This church building in the Kahakuloa Bay is sitting in such a peaceful location that I really didn't want to leave. But there was so much more to see and take in... with so little time. I used my old Olympus 5MP compact for his shot and digitally enhanced it through the GIMP Photo Manipulation system. God Bless! John 3:16

The Back 40 Acres

On a large ranch in the California Foothill Community of Valyermo there is an old house that was probably there for use by the foreman or one of his hands in keeping up with that part of the property and the livestock. It's not in use these days and all but abandoned. The property is still prime land with a view of the mountains that is hard to beat. If You like a quiet country scene, this is the one! God Bless!

Early Morning In Randsburg

The "Living Ghost Town" is a quick one mile jaunt off U.S. 395 in the middle of nowhere! There is an operating gold mine and lots of deserted homes mixed in with anitique stores and beautiful rusty things! We were there too early to even grab a breakfast. It was a beautiful day. God Bless!

Two Windows

The old storefront and home stood in the middle of nowhere between Lake Los Angeles (... an anomoly of names) and El Mirage in the Mojave desert. The funny thing is there was nobody who could have been around and the highway yielded no real measue of traffic. No wonder it shut down. But the structure had that wonderful old peeling paint and personality that makes reminds me of why I love old things... and rust! There's always that sense of mystery in these places too. Retirement Blues

The Old Wagon Cart had been put out to pasture and now adorned the desert Cocky Bull Bar and Saloon in Adelanto, California as an old ornamental decoration. Looking at the dry and cracking wood I could swear that they were really just wringles on an old western face! God Bless. John 3:16

Which Way The Wind Blows

The old windmill tower is just another antique that decorates the outside of the roadside bar and grill in this desert town. There was a day when it pumped water and indicated the direction of the wind and it's veracity. It's a good metaphor for some things that we could use in our everyday lives. God Bless!

The Old Bottle Shop

The display was already pretty vintage before it was hoisted onto the rooftop of the old Bottle Shop store just off Highway 398... the Pearblossom Highway. Now it's just crumbling in the extreme conditions. The shop is closed now and looks like it belongs in one of the old ghost towns that litter California. God Bless! John 3:16-17
