Living Water

Number 2 of the series of images created for the showing at the Southwest Institute of Healing Arts. Living Rain incorporates the essence of scripture as it refers to Jesus Christ as living water. Reminded by the prophet Jeremiah when we forsake the spring of Living water we create our own broken vessels to retain the essence of the living water. (Jeremiah 2:13)

Our Daily Bread

Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. "This, then, is how you should pray: " 'Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. ' 14 For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. Matthew 6:8 - 15 Second in my series of images denoting the power which resonates as we become knowledgeable of the image of God through His son Jesus the Christ. As Jesus presents the example of the "Lords Prayer" it compels us to meditate daily on the request made before heaven and it's power to free us from the attempts of the evil one and spirit which removes us from the glory of God

Slain

Power

But if I drive out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you."Or again, how can anyone enter a strong man's house and carry off his possessions unless he first ties up the strong man? Then he can rob his house. Matthew 12:28,29 As I was creating this image the scripture out of Matthew 12 came alive in me. At the time I was being challenged with a life situation with the inablility to manage it in my own right. It was a heart challenge that I was unable to rationalize. I was overwhelmed with my flesh as it was dictating to me a response which would have brought death to the whole situation. As I kneeled to pray and asked God to release the challenge from me it felt like a hundred pound weight was lifted from my back. The spirit of God had rested upon me. This image ministers to my moments when I don't have an answer and when I surrender to God the issue it becomes apparant that the Spirit allows me to enter into the strong man's house to bind him concerning the issue. Without surrendering to the Spirit there is no way to enter the strong mans house to bind and rob him of God's glory which was yours in the first place. What the enemy has is already yours by the blood of Jesus. Amen

Surrender

The LORD taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy. Psalm 147:11 In these trying times the ability to surrender to God produces faith instead of fear. In light of all our challenges our strength is predicated upon our surrender of our fears which is a strength and not a fear.

Do not withhold discipline from a child; if you punish him with the rod, he will not die. Punish him with the rod and save his soul from death. Proverbs 23:13,14 This image was derived through the process of the Rhema (living) word which ministered to me during a recent tragedy concerning young man whose life was lost as a result no discipline in his life. The scripture out of the book of Proverbs (23:13,14) sets forth the illustration necessary to save the souls of our young generation. It starts with us the parents and not the Ideas of the media, world, and culture that lures our children into lives with no purpose or direction.

Living Water Rain

For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; he will lead them to springs of living water. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes." Revelation 7:17 This image represents the power of the living water as it is ministered through prayer. It is our prayer life that will produce the result favorable through the precious Lamb who sits on the throne. Amen.

Brothers

It is somewhat relational concerning the first fight and the fighting that presents itself in our lives on a continual basis. Lets look at the first fight and find the similarities. And she again bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground. And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering. But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell. And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen? If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him. And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him. And the LORD said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother’s keeper? Genesis 4: 2 - 9 Every day of our lives we struggle with the issue that set off Cain. Most of the time it is not in relationship with pleasing our Father in Heaven, but our own selfish motives. We make statements like I can't stand him/her concerning a co worker, relative, neighbor or aquaintance. Usually it is driven by pride as it relates to who is superior. We make comments about those in leadership for instance the current administration in Washington D.C. that is attacked on all sides because it doesn"t live up to a standard raised by the party opposite of the one thats in position. Why can we not encourage our brother in his effort to do well? Where is the harm in expressing love instead of hate or division. In Matthew 7 Jesus kind of hints at the solution to solving this issue. He says, "Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your br

Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait till the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of men's hearts. At that time each will receive his praise from God…………………..1 Corinthians 4:5 Interesting that the judgment which is given to our Lord Jesus Christ continues to manifest itself in the power and might of men. As self confessed Christians many of us continue to make judgments on the hearts of men that lead us into the shadows of the light available to us. Making assumptions as to who are a genuine follower of our Lord and the motives of men’s hearts continues to plague and rob us of His power. Visiting the statements of our reported leaders and politicians (on the right)it is apparent that some of us as Christians continue to miss his word stated in the 1Corinthians 4:5 which illuminate His power concerning men’s hearts. As Christians we should not engage the power of God’s to either condemn a process of leadership for this nation or empower it to subvert a class of people. Listening to those on the right of the political spectrum in the United States who continue to condemn the President and refer to him as “Satan” is not the heart of those who confess Christ. As I understand it God is the one who installs the governing authority. I read this out of the Romans Chapter 13. Here is what it says; “Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and he will commend you.” Interesting how the rhetoric from the so called Christian right misses this point. On the con

During these trying times prayer is the instrument used to make our petitions known to God. Rest assured that God is in charge, it allows us to find peace during our most challenging times. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition (supplication), with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. Phillipians 4:6

Restore

During these challenging times there is a restoration that takes place when we exercise our faith. It comes solely when we place our trust in God through His son Jesus Christ And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast…………..1 Peter 5:10

Sunrise Over Darkness

Yet I am writing you a new command; its truth is seen in him and you, because the darkness is passing and the true light is already shining.............1 John 2:8 Sometimes in the midst of our day we become challenged by things and thoughts that we have no contol over. It hinders me being separated from my son and therfore I slip into these shadows of darkness. Unfortunately the power of the Risen Christ leads me through my darkest hours and compels me to a hope that is present through his marvellous light. Amen

Naked

Death is naked before God; Destruction lies uncovered. Job 26:6 Looking at the cross of Christ it can only minister to us when we come uncovered. All of the preconceived notions, gestures, religion, lies and deception produce a separation spiritually from God that results in eternal death. When I address the cross in truth then and only then will it present the saving grace and power necessary to remove me from the burden of sin. Lord as I move closer to eternity help me to understand the truth of my salvation. At times it can present a challenge when I approach the cross clothed in all of my lies, hatred, lust, fear, religion and death concerning this fallen world which I am confronted with on a daily and hourly basis. How do I remove the plank from my eye that I may see clearly enough to see the truth about my brother? Unless I take it all off and trust in you I will continue to perish into an eternity away from you instead of one with you. Lord bless me today with an opportunity to be clothed in your righteousness. Help me to understand your will as I dwell in the presence of my brother. Encourage me to move faithfully and truthfully concerning your presence in me. For the power of the gospel of Jesus Christ rest in my ability to undress and become naked before you in every way. Holy Spirit dress me with the love that was presented at the cross of Calvary through the cleansing blood of Jesus Christ. Amen. "Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked I will depart. A&E

Moving through life to eternity I have come to realize that through its complexities we get of course concerning the root of who we are. In the creation model the strength in our completeness revolves around the piece that is missing. This is the strength of the deception used by satan to remove us from the glory of God. The man said, \"This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called \'woman, \' for she was taken out of man.\" For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh. Tapping In II

Another view of wonderful posture which is necessary for all of us at one time or another. To reach the power which is greater than us (God) we have to come to that place and time in our life, day and sometimes hour that will keep us from being overwhelmed by the fallen nature of this world and the god of it. It is the power that allow us to live. Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7

Conversation 2

Sometimes our converstion is pointed in the wrong direction towards the wrong source.When moved into the marvelous light it begings to translate life into living. As believers and people in the dicipline of the Lord Jesus Christ our conversation should always present a welcome to those who are not of our faith. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone. Colossians 4:6

Foot Of The Cross

This piece was created as a reminder to find the foot of the cross of Jesus Christ during these most challenging times. It is at the foot of the cross where his precious blood cleanses me unto righteousness. Hebrews 12:2 illustrates this point. It says; looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Our victory is at the foot of the Cross

Thank You

This image serves as a reminder of the posture and glory when we give thanks to God. Our gratiude expresses an overwhelming desire to bless God with the image He created deposited and invested in is since the beginning of time. I believe that encountering the posture is a true expression of faith which is manifested daily in our lives.

Dad

Moving into this new decade I will begin to project an image of Dad interacting into the live of children. Impressed upon me by the recent events and the spirit of God I believe its time for us fathers to stand up and choose life. It begins in our children.

Meditation

In our most trying and challenging times the ability to disconnect from our situation and to connect to our inner self produces tremendous results. Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer. Psalm 19:14

A Touch

In those times when our challenges outweigh our strength it is our faith that will present the power of God to minister the outcome necessary to complete us and make us whole. Illustrated by the women in Matthew Chapter 9 , it was what was illuminated in her heart that compelled her to reach out and touch the hem of the garment of Jesus the Christ.

Glory Spot

There is nothing more satisfying than basking in the Shadow of the Cross in its full glory. Nothing is more precious than the blood of the King running from the foot of the Cross "For you are our glory and joy." 1 Thessalonians 2:20

The Cross

So where does this leave the philosophers, the scholars, and the world’s brilliant debaters? God has made the wisdom of this world look foolish. Since God in his wisdom saw to it that the world would never know him through human wisdom, he has used our foolish preaching to save those who believe. It is foolish to the Jews, who ask for signs from heaven. And it is foolish to the Greeks, who seek human wisdom. So when we preach that Christ was crucified, the Jews are offended and the Gentiles say its all nonsense 1Corinthians 1: 20-23 One of the most effective ways to reach people for Christ is presented in this piece of scripture. The Apostle Paul experienced first hand the power of Christ crucified with his experience on the Damascus road. Christ crucified works not by what we can see or touch. Neither is it manifested in the process of mans theory or philosophy. It can not be comprehended through the dogmas of man and his way to worship. To those whose philosophy is based the concept of karma or deeds will come to find out that Christ crucified confounds that notion. Man and his ability to reason with the effects of sin and death is contrary to the power of God which is presented through Jesus Christ crucified. Christ crucifixion becomes offensive to those who hold on to the processes of this world and its application to sin. It becomes nonsense to those who look to the wisdom of men to deliver mankind from the challenges it faces in every facet of our lives. It was love manifested by the Spirit of God that presented His son to the cross to save us. (John 3:16) Nothing else. When we preach Christ crucified we proclaim the love of God unconditionally in order for the Spirit of God to manifest the glory of God. It is available only when we proclaim the death, burial, and resurrection of our Lord and apply it in every area of our lives. Worship VI

While engaging the Lord in worship we lift him above our challenges because he is above it all. Exalt ye the LORD our God, and worship at his footstool; for he is holy. Psalm 99:5

Slain

This image is rendered in reference to the Word of God and how it slays us with the truth concerning His will and not ours. For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Hebrews 4:12

Wo - Man

Illustrating the creation mandate concerning the Wo - man. Notice how the creator created the Wo - man out of the body (rib) of man. Check out this illustration from Genesis chapter 2 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. Genesis 2: 21 - 23 Without women man has a somewhat difficult time realizing his humanity.

Bound (Sin)

Some of the issues of life bind us and keep us from living the Glory of God. Creativity is stifled when fear, umbelief ,condemnation, jealousy, and hatred manifest themselves in the heart of man. He becomes bound to the circumstances associated with the spirit that separates us from the Creator. Here is a piece written by the Prophet Isaiah in the 61 chapter of his book. Check it out ; "The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; Christ and His teachings were anointed to release us from those issues that bind us and hold us captiive. There is no other source in Heaven or on Earth that can set you free from the bondange of sin and death.

Resurrection

The third and final part of my trio of images is Resurrection. It is in this part that we come to take part in what God had in store for us in the first place, Paradise. As in his example it is only by faith that we enter into this virtue. Ever get that feeling when you rest in God that peace and joy that can not be explained. You can't describe it to no one because each time it overwhelms the soul. Visit this scene in Acts that blows the doors off of the who experience. Check out this illustration of Christ ascending onto the Father But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven." Acts 1: 8-11 It is in this piece that our Lord will return and recieve us unto Him. Just writing about it produces a shout in me. It's that same feeling that you get when the thing you are most passionate about exceeds abundantly above all you can ask or think. Wow!! Allow that power that rose Christ unto the Father the opportunity to resurrection those disasters and dead situation in you life. There is nothing more powerfu than allowing the God of Heaven and Earth the opportunity to pull you up by your bootstraps to share in his Glory Amen

Death

Part of a trio of images presenting my view and perspective of the cross of Jesus Christ. Through the Spirit of God we are presented with opportunities to die to ourselves and allow him to come alive in us. This first image illustrates that action as we approach and view the cross its power and the glory. In the book of Daniel the prophet gets a visit on the side of the river from the Lord (some say an angel). Notice the activity and what took place by the prophets own admission. He died. Check it out, "And, behold, one like the similitude of the sons of men touched my lips: then I opened my mouth, and spake, and said unto him that stood before me, O my lord, by the vision my sorrows are turned upon me, and I have retained no strength. For how can the servant of this my lord talk with this my lord? for as for me, straightway there remained no strength in me, neither is there breath left in me. Then there came again and touched me one like the appearance of a man, and he strengthened me, And said, O man greatly beloved, fear not: peace be unto thee, be strong, yea, be strong. And when he had spoken unto me, I was strengthened, and said, Let my lord speak; for thou hast strengthened me." Isaiah 10: 16 - 19 As we can see with this illustration from the prophet death has to reign in order for us to open our soul up to Him to whom it belongs. This can be applied to every area of our lives. Let Christ become the Lord of it all. Each day when I look upon the Cross this view is always presented to me. It is upon my death in relinquishing my spirit that I become alive in the Holy Spirit. Amen

Burial

In this second image of the trio, part of the activity written by God for the cross was presented in the burial. Scripture says that Christ died and was risen three days later. It is interesting that in that process he is presented the opportunity to bury all that was placed on Him at the Cross. This has to take place in order for Him to ascend to the Father. Here is an illustration of what took place. " I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death." Revelation 1:18 Notice in this piece from the book of Revelation that our Lord had to enter that place to take back what belonged to him. The keys to death and hell. That opportunity is afforded to us on a regular basis. Our victories come when we are able to bury those issues that torment us and challenge us in our lives. It is when we take it and leave it beneath us when the Lord of Glory presents us with life . Understand that it is a process that we have to grab hold of on a continual basis. God knows our challenges, but he also knows our strengths. The apostle Paul hints on this as he writes in the letter to the Romans in the 12th chapter. Notice he speaks of transformation. . check it out, "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Romans 12:2 Unless the burial process is in place it becomes very challenging to line up with the Kingdom of God concerning the will he has for our lives. Amen

Brotherly Love

Born into a world that places an emphasis on self (narcisism) the perception of our existence is filtered and blocked by motives that are self defeating. Our Lord places an emphasis on loving your neighbor like a brother. The apostle Paul writes in Romans 12:10 "Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another; ". There are times when loving your brother can be the most challenging test to our faith. When we remove self and allow Christ to sit on the throne miracles occur. Those challenging issues become shouts of praise. Honor and love one another and allow Christ to use your example for his glory Amen

Breath Of Life

In the beginning it started for man with the breath of life. Interesting that God in all his creation chose to create us in His image. It is in that image that we offer glory unto the creator. In all of our travels , experiences, relationships, sacrafices, joy's , disappointments, victories and defeats that breath is sufficent enough to extend us into the next hour. Every hour of our life the breath deposited by the creator provides us with opportunity to exhale the goodness and greatness of God. As we continue on this journey towards eterinity lets not forget Christ was risen by the same breath , which also appeared on the day of Pentecost. He breathes today ! All we have to do is rest and take in the breath of life Recieve iit today. Dont leave home without it. Genesis 2:7 Amen

Shout

Shout is a reflection of what happens when the Holy Spirit penetrates the heart. "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised" Luke 4:18

Looking up

The image is a relection of a child looking up and making a request known to his Father (In Heaven) He is alone and off into a places where he can make the request without any outside interference. " But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly." Matthew 6:6

Broken

This image is was rendered in reference to those moments when all you can do is fall on your knees and pray. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

Straight No Chaser

This image comes by way of a title from a tune by Thelonious Monk . As I was listening to the piece I noticed how the bass line stayed central to the melody. I began to visualize a straight alcoholic drink with nothing to chase it with. When we allow Jesus Christ to live in our hearts we do not need anything else As the result it is straight with no chaser. Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. Matthew 7:13,14

Sudanese Woman

This image is born out of the struggle which ensues in the country of Sudan. I try to capture the beauty of the human spirit in times of tragedy and loss.

Our Father

This image is the first in a series of paintings centered around the Lord's prayer given to us by Jesus as he modeled it for the disciples in Matthew 6:9 " After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen."

Help us

The greatest act we can display is when we love others despite there condition. "Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me." Matthew 25:45

All To Jesus

This image takes its presence from a group of Sudanese children before the Lord. Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 18:3 -4 His word it true. In order for the Kingdom to come here on earth we need to humble ourselves such as little children

Jakes

Delivering the good news for the King of Kings about his kingdom. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! Romans 10:14,15

Worship II

A intrical part of worship is giving reverence to God. Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come before him: worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness. I Chronicles 16:29

Rejoice

Our God is so wonderful he gave us the ability to praise Him forever Every day I will bless thee; and I will praise thy name for ever and ever. Psalm 145:2

Praise

There is wonderful hope as we lift our hearts and hands to the heaven's in praise for the wonderful gift given to us by God. Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God. 1 Corinthians 4:5

Hallejuah 2

What a wonderful feeling it is to have the creator of the universe tap into your soul. Ps 138:3 In the day when I cried thou answeredst me, and strengthenedst me with strength in my soul.

Worship V

Reaching that higher place requires discipline in prayer. Hear, O Lord, my righteous plea; listen to my cry. Give ear to my prayer—it does not rise from deceitful lips. Psalm 17:1 Reach Him on high to recieve his wonderful power to live

Sermon on Mount

The Sermon on the mount produced the greatest sermon as Christ announced that the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand. He opens the sermon with the Beatitudes starting in Matthew 5:3 The attitude and character described by our Lord are unattainable by self effort,but are brought forth by the work of the indwelling Holy Spirit.

Tapping In

This image is a reflection of the wonderful resource given to us by the Almighty God to reference his power to navigate our lives. Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. Phillipians 4:6
