Lost Girl Fairy

"As the last Good Humor Orange Cream drips down a darkling sky..." The Lost Girl Faerie is just one more attraction in this carnival of souls. Her golden eyed familiar holds the power of mystery and magic and the creatures of the night. This painting is a tribute to my favorite movie "Lost Boys".

Nightingale Song Fairy

Nightingale Song was inspired by the fairy tale 'The Nightingale'. The subdued golds and ochres in the background remind me of living in the Phillipines when I was a child. Perhaps our photographs of that time were just faded - but these colors take me back to that place and time when life was simple and we played outside in the warm summer rains.

"...She's anything but good for you. She's all your bad dreams come true. She's Trouble". This painting was inspired by and created for my life-long friend Daryl - who wrote the song "She's Trouble".

Goose Girl Fairy

Goose Girl was inspired by the fairy tale 'The Little Goose Girl'. I have a dear friend and fellow artist, Alex, who loves birds and is a Goose Girl herself. I took the reference photos for the geese in a garden park on Maui, somewhere on the road to Hana.

Panda Fairy

"Everyone needs something to hold on to... Everyone needs something that they just can't loose." Panda Girl is about companionship, a key element in our human experience. Sometimes we just need someone to talk to. One of my own Teddy Bears was the model for the Panda. He is very soft and cuddly and a very good listener.

Love Potion Fairy

The Love Potion faerie is about physical attraction versus unconditional love. Should she take the potion at hand or wait until the 'real thing' comes along? The animal totem of Peacock represents ressurection and wise vision. Where will this fae's wise vision lead her? Peacock is one of my favorite themes and I have created several large pastel paintings of peacocks. This is my second attempt to bring this amazing creature into my digital artwork.

Thunder Fairy

Thunder is set a steamy alleyway in the French Quarter of New Orleans. The painting was inspired by the song 'Thunder' written by my friend Daryl. "I hear thunder in the mountains, I hear thunder in the streets. I hear thunder on the corner, where the Crips and the Bloods meet..."

Sparkle & Night Fairy

When I was a child I dreamed of owning a horse. His name would be Star and I would ride him through the snow filled aspen forests of Colorado. But in time the dreams of young girls fade and the reality of living day-to-day takes precedence over the stuff of dreams. (Or is there any difference?) Sparkle & Nightshade is my tribute to that memory. The reference for Nightshade was a beautiful horse named 'Oreo' who does live in the mountains of Colorado in a place so beautiful it can only be the stuff of dreams.

Wishing Pool Fairy

We spend so much time wishing for our dream to change... and in the end it is still just a dream. The lizard medicine of the watchful iguana is associated with dreamtime and the subtilities of movement within the dream and beyond. But the Wishing Pool farie is oblivious to her companion... she is lost in her desires. The iguana in this painting is called Noaaah and was originally painted in pastel.

Abandoned Fairy

The Abandoned Faerie depicts the experience of feeling lost and alone in the dream world. The belief that we can ever be alone is perhaps the grandest illusion of them all.

Raven Nightwing Fairy

Raven Nightwing was my first Halloween Faerie. She was painted for my daughter who was born on Halloween. I named her after a beautiful lady I used to dance with a long time ago.

Heart's Desire Fairy

Hearts Desire is another of my fairy tale faeries. She represents our longing to exchange our life, our dream for another. The peacock eyes represent ressurection. I took the reference photo for the castle decades ago while touring Germany. It is the original fairy tale castle - Neuschwanstein.

Belladona Fairy

The animal totem Lion represents the power of female energy. Here feline and fae sit quietly on a mountain ledge, watchful and waiting.

Sea Otter Fairy

The delicate, golden-haired fae is captivated by the playful antics of the lone sea otter and his treasured pulmeria flower. The power animal, sea otter, represents playfulness, sharing and the emotion of pure joy.

Web Fairy

This delicate dragonfly fae struggles against the bonds that hold her captive... a victim by her own design. Her freedom lies in knowing that she alone has created the web, the spider and the starscape beyond.
