"Buddies"

Buddy is my son's white part-Siamese rescue cat who has a delightfully 'smug' expression. I doubled him up in this painting, so the title has a double meaning. The original painting is acrylic on 8"x10" gessoed masonite.

Upon Reflection

These two precious kittens are trying to figure out how that other cat got inside my kitchen table! The white manx kitten is Bob and the orange tabby is Cheddar, although sunshine and shadow have got to be the main subjects in this painting.

Sittin' on a Crack

I took time out while showing at Arts on Riverdale in Macon, GA to snap some photos of two adorable Boston terrier pups. This 5"x6"x1-1/2" acrylic on canvas captures one of them sitting on a crack in the sidewalk. I couldn't resist using University of Georgia bulldog colors!

Puddle Guard

This little foal seems to be saying "Chill out! I'm not interested in your puddle!" The original is a sweet little 5"x6"x1-1/2" oil on canvas and would reproduce well as a giclee on canvas.

Jack

Jack was a beagle-mix with such soulful eyes that he brought to mind the saying that "eyes are the windows to the soul". This little oil painting captures that.

Fish Soup

Koi are fun to paint as there are so many color variations and no two are ever alike. I photographed these at the Birmingham, AL zoo several summers ago. They were very effectively begging for food from their audience.

Wallflowers

What fun! These are my three dogs captured in a whimsical way expressing their personalities. From left to right is Sadie, who's always on "Go!"; Pete, the sensible one: Spaz (Sadie's son), who's name speaks for itself. The original painting is 24"x48" so it makes quite a statement!

Muffin

Muffin is now 11 years old and still looks like the big kitten she was in this painting. The reference photo caught her in a shaft of sunlight in my livingroom, which has all the rich colors in it that you see in this piece.

Muff

This acrylic original was created for competition in the 2008 Georgia License Plate Contest to raise money for the dog and cat sterilization program. We all love a cute little kitten or puppy but there are too many in our shelters.

Morris

This original acrylic painting was created for competion in the Georgia License Plate Contest to help raise money for their dog and cat sterilization program. Morris showed up at our house just before Christmas badly mangled & infected from a fight. After unsuccessfully trying to find his owner, we took him to the vet to be doctored and later neutered. He is one of the lucky ones... so many tom cats never get a second chance. Please neuter!
