Famous Scottish Castle - Kyle of Localsh

The Kyle of Lochalsh is a famous Scottish castle located in the Scottish Highlands close to the West coast and very near to the Isle of Skye. The artist painted this scene in one sitting on location during a warm Summer's day in July 2007. The paint used was Artist's quality heavy bodied acrylic and it was applied to the canvas with a painting knife only. No brushes were used.

Bluebell Fairy

Tenby Harbour with Colourful Boats

Tenby is an historic medieval town on the South Wales Pembrokeshire coast in the United Kingdom. The town also has Venetian influences in parts around the harbour. The inner part of the town is shrouded within castle walls. The original painting was achieved with Artist's Acrylics and is very detailed. It shows a few of the harbour's many varied and colourful boats bobbing up and down on the incoming tide. The brown building past the mid distant quay is a small chapel and it sits literally on the beach. Tenby is a fabulous place to visit but it is best seen when free of tourists.

Swiss Alps

This is a mountain scene of the Swiss Alps which shows light from the setting sun highlighting the tops of the distant mountains. The blue and purple mountains in the mid distance are coloured as such to represent cool air descending upon an otherwise warm terrain. The original painting was achieved with heavy bodied acrylic paints to give an impasto effect. The paint was applied with a small painting knife. No brushes were used. It was completed in one sitting in my studio and from sketches.
