In exchange for the prince's services Zeus gave his father, Tros, horses of Aeneas that could run over water. Eventually, Ganymede becomes fed up with his duties and pours out all the wine, ambrosia, and water of the gods, quitting his position of cupbearer. The liquids which fell to Earth caused the great flood. Zeus was enraged at Ganymede, but in a extremely rare moment of reflection realized that his own actions were the cause of all the trouble, and so, made Ganymede immortal and gave him the position representing the Zodiac Aquarius.

Leda and the Swan

Zeus, the supreme ruler of the gods, fell in love with Leda, the wife of the king of Sparta. They all then set out for Rome, intending to surprise their wives and, thus, test what they had been saying. Only Collatinus found his wife, Lucretia, spinning quietly at home with her maids. The other ladies were found dancing and reveling. The men then gave Collatinus the victory and returned to camp.
A few days later, Sextus Tarquinius, inflamed with desire by Lucretia's virtue returned to Rome, where he was welcomed by Lucretia by reason of his friendship with her husband. When she was alone, Sextus went to her bedchamber and threatened to kill her if she did not yield to him. She resisted, but he threatened to kill both her and a male slave and place their naked bodies together so it would appear that she had been caught in adultery. Fearing this form of disgrace, she yielded to him and afterwards took her own life, revealing of the misdeed in a letter.
Outraged by this injustice, Lucretia's brother Lucius Junius Brutus incited the people of Rome against the royal family by displaying her body, which resulted in overthrow of the monarchy and the establishment of the Roman republic.

The Death of Lucretia

Lucretia is a legendary figure in the history of the Roman Republic. According to legend she was raped by Sextus, son of Tarquinius Superbus, and having revealed this to her husband, in a letter, took her own life. The result was the replacement of the monarchy with the new republic.

Pasiphae

Pasiphae, the wife of Minos, king of Crete, who fell madly in love with a beautiful bull. During the feast, his stepdaughter Salome danced before him and his guests. She so pleased Herod that he swore to give her anything she requested. The young woman asked her mother Herodias for guidance. Because John spoke against king's marriage to his brother's wife, Herodias, the latter told her daughter to ask for the head of John the Baptist.
Salome asked for the head of John the Baptist on a platter. Herod was sorry when he heard this. But because of his oath, and because of his dinner guests, Herod ordered the beheading.

The Quill

Acrylic on Paper

Still Life

Acrylic on Paper

The Plate with the Peaches

Acrylic on Paper

Still Life with the Knife

Acrylic on Paper

The Bowl with Fruit

Acrylic on Paper

Still Life with a Goblet

Acrylic on Paper

Still Life

Acrylic on Paper

The Abduction of Europa

This work depicts a story from Greek mythology.
