What a beautiful day in San Francisco!

Misty Tree

I stumbled on to this image while hiking on a very foggy day in the santa cruz mountains. The background appears airbrushed by the fog but has not been altered. I really like the way the tree pops from the misty background.

My Line

The images in this gallery were taken the day after a big storm off the coast. The waves the day before were a mess, but they cleaned up and the sun came out just in time to give me some great shots. Are there bad days surfing?

White Dawn

The sunrise this crisp clear morning made the cherry blossoms bounce off the sky. The orange glow offsets the white, pink and green of the trees and makes them look as if they are on fire.

Yellow Lace

This flower looks graceful. You expect to see it sway in the wind at any moment. This image was captured at the botanical garden in Washington DC.

When Are We

The City

If you're from the East Coast then New York is known to you as "the City." But it you're from the west coast then "the city" is more than likely San Francisco. And no better landmark defines San Francisco then it's Golden Gate Bridge. This image was taken from the north side of the bridge looking back at the city.

Silver Sunset

The dark foreground really offsets the briliant sunset and makes those clouds glow in silver. The barbed wire is an unexpected addition.

Ocean Storm

Polka Dot

This image was taken at the Botanical Gardens in Washington DC. The shape of the flower alone is amazing but the purple polka-dots are a natural unexpected surprise.

Helmet Head

Washington Monument

I got this shot as a storm was rolling into Washington DC. The dark clouds look ominous even as the light shines through the clouds near the top of the monument. That light almost looks like it's shining out of the structure itself and onto the clouds, not the other way around.

Back Light

The sunlight streaming through the window made this orchid glow. I was lucky enough to capture that moment.

Bonita Bridge

The bright day shining through the bridge creates strong shaddows that draw your eye down the line.

Terra Firma Fini

The vastness of the Pacific Ocean where it meets the bay of Monterey is emphasized by the man at the end of the earth. I wonder what he's looking at.

Alpine Moon

When I lived in Lake Tahoe I was lucky enough to be able to watch the sunset over the lake almost every night. This shot is taken from a popular rock climbing spot near Incline Village. It squares off the alpine glow of the sunset with the midnight blue of the moon on the rise. Every time I look at it I am transported into the mountains again.

Great Blue

I was on my way to take pictures of a beautiful horse barn near my house when I saw this Great Blue Herron sitting in a field. As I photographed him he seemed to pose for me turning from side to side and then giving me the eye.

What A Ride

I can feel how much fun this guy is having everytime I look at this image. In his next motion he spins and heads back down the face of the wave.

Sunset Wire

Taken in the Santa Cruz mountains looking out towards the Pacific Ocean at sunset. The barbed wire adds depth to the image. The sky is washed with the changing colors of the end of the day.

Big Sky

I captured this beautiful sky in the Caribbean. I love the way the yellow and blue of this image contast eachother.

Bonita

Lighthouse outside of the San Francisco Golden Gate. The Imagekind logo is a watermark and will not be present on the final piece.

Bamboo Night

A row of bamboo at a nearby Japanese garden caught my eye. It was a cloudy day and the darkness offset the ligt color of the bamboo. I love the patterns that emerge among the rings the more I look at this image.

Bridge Surfing

An amazing summer day in the sierras! I came to photograph the bridge and found a couple of guys surfing off of it in the river.
