Breaking Formation

A group of very young frogs are clustered on the side of my friend's swimming pool. The pool was mostly empty awaiting repairs and nature of course took advantage and expanded her population. At this point in time, these frogs are no bigger than a 1/4" . You'll notice one of the frogs is not following the others. Taken April 2007.

Envy Wears A Pale Smile

This big green Bullfrog was hanging on the side of an empty swimming pool. I got on my stomach and just peeked over the edge to get this shot. I only got a couple frames before he saw me and made good his escape. The bright yellow line makes it look like he's smiling. Hope you enjoy.

A Little Bronze

This is image has more detail than can possibly be shown in this small thumbnail.

I found this bronze frog in the marsh of Gatorland's nature walk. For this angle I had to lie down on the walkway. This, of course, caused folks to stop to see what I found so interesting. I managed to get several shots before someone threw a stick at him so they could see him jump. Sometimes people can be ... Anyway, they missed him, he dove under the vegetation, they oohed and awed at how fast he could move and I successfully resisted the temptation to use my rather large lens to explore the individual's intestinal tract in search of his brain. Did I ever mention that I find photography a "relaxing" endeavor. Taken May 2010.

Sitting In A Dimple

This guy was sitting in a partially drained swimming pool. He was no bigger than the finger-nail on my pinky. I found it interesting how the water formed a dimple around him.

Soaking

I love taking my canoe out through the small waterways and lakes. It's a quiet vessel which allows you to see creatures before they dash off to safety. This turtle had three buddies who were a bit more sheepish and took a dive. I guess he had a prime spot on the log and was not about to give it up.

Really Close

My friend's pool sprung a leak and they had to drain it for repair. With the little bit of water left a the bottom and nice warm Florida sun, he soon had an explosion of tiny frogs.
