Paper Red Roses

Cherry Blossom

Inspired by Cherry Blossoms, and a little lady who LOVES swings. The colors were mixed to give a relaxed feeling of a lying around in front of a Cherry Blossom tree, with a swing set calling out to be used. Scattered metallic leaf create a shimmer effect the sun has as it bounces off this and that. The figures are etched into the painting with a metal point.

You Can Fly!

Using Charcoal, acrylic, star confetti, metal leaf, glitter, and paper, this piece has curves etched into it's surface revealing layers of paint beneath the top, with the word, "fly" written throughout. It has a planetary feeling to it, with the bottom curvature representing a planet's surface. Eye-like shapes on this planet look out and beyond to the shimmering light throughout the piece.

TIME Lost & Found

Layers of blue, white, cream, and gold form the main background of this piece. The circle on the left was first carved into wet acrylic paint, and then writing a stream of consciousness, words flowed forth making sentences or just quick phrases, closely placed so that it created more texture than something legible. Elements of time are placed here and there, with the English and Spanish "Time"/"Tiempo" hand written on the bottom right. The black and blue metallic paint was liquified using water and retarder, then squirted out of a bottle.

Go Fish

Layers of color create a white wash finish to the surface, while a torn out goldfish from an asian fish motif sheet, peeks through the bottom left. Swirls and curls in magenta and orange, add movement like water spray.
