Emerge: Tall Ship in the Fog

It is morning in Halifax. The fog is thick along the docks. As your eyes focus, you see a tall ship emerging from the fog, slowly from stem to stern. The image haunts you. The ship only just appeared, but it seems to have been here always.

Avebury Stone Circle

I remember this sunset above all other sunsets. I have never seen light like this, and I may never see a sunset like this one again. This is a moment that makes you forget that it's cold. You forget that it's damp. This is the type of moment that sticks with you - not just in your memory, but in your heart. Avebury is home to the largest stone circle in Europe and is one of the best known prehistoric sites in Britain. This photograph was taken on the winter solstice in 2007.
