Seeking the Rainbow

When the storms of life rain down, delight in the promise of finding a new rainbow at the storms edge. Then, realizing that the rainbow did not exist until this storm created it, we can be thankful for the storm even while we are still in it.

Glow Through It All

The Journal

Roses are simply romantic and have a certain mystique that has been written about in many novels, songs and poems throughout the years. This floral image with it soft focus, gentle pink, antiqued texture and subtle handwritten journalling in the background make the viewer part of the chapter.

Weeds and the common crow are perfect examples of what the artist calls "Extraordinarily Ordinary". We all take these kinds of things for granted as we walk past them daily. But, if we take the time to look, we will see that the sheen of the feathers on the crow contain the most wonderous colors and those weeds are as beautiful as any cultivated flower when they are in bloom. This work is a reminder to remember to look for the "extra" in the "ordinary".

Intersect

Shot in Seattle's industrial area. There are many, many trains and tracks here, as Seattle is a major port for both imports an exports. Like most industrial areas, it is grimy and ugly at first glance, but if you look hard, you can find beautiful and interesting scenes.

Pucker by the Pound

I spotted this charming scene in a quaint little roadside market. It was like time stood still there with all the canned goods and homemade baked items and fresh produce for sale. My mind goes there everytime I look at this picture and I hope it takes you there too.

Citron

Digitally 'painted' photography of an beautiful Italian jar filled with refreshing and fragrant lemons and limes. The toning and subject is reminiscent of old masters paintings, but with a little digital texture that can only be seen up close, for a modern edge.

This area is famous for it's annual tulip festival when all the bulb companies fields are on bloom and there are colors galore! Everyone in the area gets into the act by planting tulips in their yards, selling tulips and tulip art in little stands, etc.. This image is a digitally hand-tinted black and white, using old fashioned pastels for a vintage look.
