Temporary Homes

A shark's egg casing, a 'By the wind sailor'( a jellyfish of sorts, that is pushed along it's way w/ it's 'sail' catching the waves and wind), and the holes drilled in soft clay-like stone by a bivalve that drills with it's shell - all, temporary homes.

Wings

A pair of wings from a poor bird ( a cormorant, I think) whose final peace was found on the dunes. In the foreground is a similar bird, that I could walk right up to - it was sitting, waiting for the end, unable to even lift it's head up.

Shell reflections

So many shells, so little time - each has a shape of it's own. The sand at low tide is a mirror for the sky

Coastal cave

Life lurks in every crack and crevice here - a small cave hides mollusks that cling to rocks, filtering every wave for nutrition.

Small Signs

Everywhere, there are small signs of life - a jawbone with a few remaining teeth, the spines of an urchin, the trail of some insect, the groove a blade of grass has carved in the sand...

Flip-flops

A pair of sandals lies on the beach, as if their owner had simply stepped out of them, and and entered another dimension.

Moonrise

A temporary expression of an eternal sentiment, a different kind of 'line in the sand' that can be embraced.
