Autumn in New England

Autumn Harvest ver2

Here's a 2nd version of this archetypal autumn scene, a pumpkin harvest. I have done just a bit of post processing to give it a painterly look.

Autumn Harvest

I was out for a ride this afternoon in a rural area of Connecticut when I came along this scene which says it all. Talk about a scene for the season. I think I will send it in to our local newspapers' Autumn Photo Contest. Shows best on canvas...try it, why don't you?

Winter in Autumn

This shot was taken the morning after our snow storm on Oct. 30, which caused incredible widespread tree damage and power outages for all of Western Massachusetts. Here you see the autumn foliage still on the trees surrounded by the new fallen snow.

A Walk in the Park

Here are a few of the 21,000 participants in the Rays of Hope Walk this past Sunday as they come down the hill in Forest Park. My wife, Judy, is a 2 time breast cancer survivor. This year the walkers raised over $1million for the first time.

Autumn in New England

The colors of autumn have finally arrived with a splash! They have been a little delayed do to all the rain and other unusual weather conditions we have had recently. Today was a most magnificent and uplifting day with temperatures in the low 60's and the sun shining brightly, as we walked through Forest Park here in Western Massachusetts.

This photo taken late afternoon on a beautiful day in Western Massachusetts. Taken form Pondside Rd in the Fannie Stebbins Preserve in Longmeadow,MA. Autumn foliage, birds heading south, the harvest moon...it doesn't get any better than that!

Now, this may look like a raging fire to some, but in reality it is a shot of autumn leaves blowing in a stiff breeze and photographed handheld at 1/30sec,f/45 and then tweaked just a bit in Photoshop for added effect

It seemed to me that this path could go on forever, but like life's journey, the end is probably just around the next curve.
