midnight sun

Norway has a reputation for snowy, wintry scenes. However, in the summer it's a much different experience! In the arctic circle, Norway experiences what is known as the midnight sun. This photograph of the midnight sun was captured in Bodo, a town in Northern Norway. This photograph involved no photoshopping for the colours - all of the work done to this photograph was done in-camera, not through post-processing. This photo would work well to warm up any dark area of a room - almost like having a miniature fireplace on the wall!

Drunk at the punch bowl

This contented bumblebee was too busy enjoying the nectar from the flower, to be bothered with the camera. Taken at Loch Tay, Scotland, May 2007. This photograph has been displayed in two galleries: It was included in the "We Are All Photographers Now" exhibition at the Musée de l'Elysée in Switzerland; and at Tate Britain in London, as part of the "How We Are: Photographing Britain" exhibit.

autumnal fields

One of the nicest things about autumn, is the colour change. Just before the fields turn to a sludgy brown for the winter, the farmers gather the hay. While the shape of bales and stacks of hay may have changed, the tradition of the autumnal harvest hasn't. Taken in Scotland, October 2007. These warm autumnal shades would work well in any room with a lot of wooden furniture - a small study, or over a kitchen breakfast table, or in a guest room.

ladybirds

Three little ladybirds, having woken up from the winter sleep. Taken in Central Scotland, April 2007. A bright, sweet photograph, depicting companionship, which might look great against a neutral coloured wall in a lounge or a hallway.

Scottish Bluebells

A photograph of bluebells taken at Loch Lomond in Scotland, spring 2007. The clean colours mean this photograph would look excellent in a room with natural light that just needed a little brightening up.

Botanical geometry

The underside of a palm leaf. This simple, but brightly coloured abstract photograph would brighten up any wall, and it's perfect if you're looking for a simple contemporary design which won't date quickly.

goldfish dew

Get a little closer to this picture. What appears to be a couple of dew droplets on a leaf, actually has a surprise waiting for you to find.

Woodland Path

This photograph was taken near Forth, in Central Scotland, in April 2007. The mysterious green shades and lines of perspective would work well in a hall way or corridor.

strawberry goodness

A delicious strawberry! taken in June, at its freshest. Eaten shortly after. This photograph would look beautiful in a kitchen or conservatory, or any well-lit room.
