Gerry Emson, Portsmouth, England Member Since August 2009 Artist Statement I have been interested in photography since I was about 8 years old, (1952) but it is only recently, since I retired, that I have been able to buy a decent camera, and enjoy taking photographs. I have entered several local competitions, and gained 1st, 2nd and 3rd places, I have entered a national "on line" competition with the Panasonic Camera website, and gained 2 first places, and one 2nd place. For this I won vouchers towards the cost of a Panasonic TZ6 for my wife.... We both have Panasonic cameras now... I have the unbeleivable Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ28.... which replaced my first "big zoom" camera the FUJI S5600 (S5200 in the U.S.A.)
I have travelled extensively in the United Kingdom, with Wales, being my favourite country. I also travelled around the eastern hemisphere, during my time in the Royal Navy. Unfortunately digital cameras were not available then, so I only have the memories in my head. !
