DescriptionThis piece was a first of a series that started when my daughter received a Victoria's Secret catalog in the mail. As I browsed through it I became more and more aggravated at all the skinnymodels. So I sketched out my figures in similar positions with asubstantial coat of flesh. I stylized the faces and added long red hair. You know chubby gals can are cute & sexy too! I named my 'chubby gals after women in my family. We are all the same. Shirley was my mother. This series is really about loving ourselves and accepting what God gave us to work with.
Linda Smith, St. Charles Member Since August 2007 Artist Statement Hello. I'm happy you've joined me here at "imagekind" and hope you find an enjoyable experience browsing through all the wonderful artwork. It's nice to be able to offer clients affordable options to my original work. I am primarily a figure painter and I work in oils. I describe my style as “urban realism”, describing current culture with gutsy design, color and brushwork. My original work is currently handled by Art Trends Gallery in Chesterfield, MO.
