DescriptionIt is probably one of the most famous views on San Francisco, the view from Alamo Sq, with the 'painted ladies' houses in the foreground, and the San Francisco Skyline in the background. The 'Ladies' are houses, built of wood in victorian style. Many of those houses have been destroyed during the earthquake and fire 1906 - some have survived, luckily. There once was a nice little hotel on Page St., which has closed recently. It was the best experience, sleeping in one of those victorian wood houses. Labyrinthine corridors, creaking wood, perfect beds, nice windows ...and a perfect and opulent breakfast. I ll never forget, and this painting and the background story. Enjoy it.
M Bleichner, Munich, Bavaria Member Since January 2012 Artist Statement We from artshop77 are promoting art from 2 painters, two creative souls, which are focused on transfering memories into art, views into paintings, perspectives into color. We both grew up in the countryside of Bavaria, Germany and live now near Munich. Our inspirations come from trips and journeys - Memories and special places which we then transform to canvas.
