Description The SFMOMA is a beautiful and peaceful place but if you ever visit it, you will quickly find that the SFMOMA is in fact surrounded by much chaos. The architectural forms are easily lost amidst the multitude of structures surrounding it and buried in the jamming of street level traffic, a mishmesh of guide wires and power cables for electric buses, humanity of all levels including those who dwell in the streets, horns honking, gaseous fumes, manhole exhaust, etc. Even the entrance area is conjested with its busy cafe and a sea of pedestrians going to and fro. Buried amidst all this chaos, the simplicity and beauty of the SFMOMA is easily lost. This photo is an attempt to recapture the SFMOMA's natural beauty through its simple forms, lines and texture without being too literal while juxtaposing it to the beautifully ornate PacBell building behind it as I think Mario Botta had intended it to be.
