Description The Sandy Creek Bridge was bypassed by the highway in 1949. In 1982-84, the Myrtle Point Lions Club restored the bridge and established a small park. This is the only covered bridge in Coos County, Oregon.
Ken Dietz, Portland, Oregon Member Since July 2008 Artist Statement Photography became my passion around 1996, though I've had an interest in it since childhood. My educational and career backgrounds are in technical fields, so the use of cameras has come naturally. After learning as much composition and photographic technique as possible, I set out to capture the beauty and tranquility of the world around me.
I am a native Oregonian, and a Portland area resident since 1985. The scenic beauty of the Pacific Northwest is so rich and vibrant, I can't imagine living anywhere else. I will never run out of subject matter for capturing images. I hope these scenes will bring you a sense of the breathtaking beauty around us.
Please take a look through my galleries. If you find something you like, rest assured that Imagekind can create beautiful prints or greeting cards, and a custom frame to match any decor.
I'd like to extend my thanks to all who have commented on my images.
"Both the grand and the intimate aspects of nature can be revealed in the expressive photograph." - Ansel Adams
