Artist Statement ARTIST STATEMENT

ART that is beautiful, colorful, and inspiring can transport the viewer to a place real or otherwise:
-Making the moment better.
-Bringing a smile.
-Making someone laugh.
-Giving hope.
I enjoy the process of creating art for these very specific reasons of giving the viewer hidden treasures placed carefully within the art that can lead to discovery and learning about God, the world, and themselves.
My grandest goal as an artist is to use my life experiences and create a Healing Art Ministry. I desire to see more art used and viewed in hospitals to give patients and visitors a glimpse of hope in their time of need. Also, financially support local community food pantries.
Art is always in a process of evolving and mine is no exception. Mixed media whether in drawing, painting, sculpting, or any other art form intrigues my artistic senses.My stroke work is generally very painterly, and I tend toward Realism. Most of my work to date has been in the genres of Portraiture and Botanical Illustration. Future plans include learning and incorporating Abstract and Conceptual techniques to engage interaction with my audience.
