Mona Kristensen Madsen, Vesløs Member Since August 2009 Artist Statement I was born on the lovely island Mors in Denmark 1971. I have always loved nature and spent a lot of my time outside when I was a little girl. I still remember how fascinated I was, looking at all the beautiful flowers in my grandmothers garden .
Now what I also enjoy, besides the beautiful colurs and forms that nature so generously provides, is the sense of freedom and uplifting energy i get from nature.
Today I live close to the North sea, and have the woods near by too, and I still feel very much alive when I go for a walk with my dog in the unique nature around me.
I have been drawing ever since I was a child, attended one year of artschool and have now painted for 5 years.
My subjects in both illustrations and paintings, are mainly inspirered by nature. It might be the beautiful pattern and nuances in a stone, or an interesting structure on a seashell, that suddenly catches my eyes.
I guess, by focusing on a small part, it seems (almost!) possible to capture the essence of my subject.
I very much wich to remind people to be aware of the beauty and mystery that are here all around us in the smallest things, if we pay attention!
