Tamara Fields, Columbus Member Since December 2009 Artist Statement Art is everywhere, and I love making a game out of seeing art wherever I find myself. I especially love nature and how it expresses itself through colors, textures, seasons, animals, plants and insects. I believe in ‘The Green Man’ and honor all elemental life forms. Hints of magic always inspire me, such as discovering mossy trees that could be fairy homes, or finding a secret gathering of rocks placed by a gentle stream. A simple duck is no longer taken for granted as I see the exquisite detail in her design and beauty. Photographing her is almost necessary as her mere presence offers the gift of communion with nature. My photography is a gift for you to share the experience.
Tamara Fields was born and raised in rural Ohio. Much of her young life was spent in woods and fields near her home. An excellent tree climber, she began to see the world from various angles. She made friends with the wild creatures in the woods and found that trees are beings too. Her first camera allowed her to photograph the rain, which she loved. Her favorite camera is her Cannon Rebel, which she uses for almost all of her current work. You can find her feeding the ducks and the fairies bits of cake now and then.
