Natalia Bishop, Louisville, KY Member Since January 2010 Artist Statement I have been creating art ever since my older brother taught me how to draw a cartoony mouse at the age of three. Although I've never had formal education in art, I have experimented with different mediums to create art my whole life. I was born in Barranquilla, Colombia. A warm place where people are loud and loving and color is EVERYWHERE, from the tropical flowers to the smile of a stranger. Shortly after graduating High School I moved to the U.S with my family with the hopes of pursuing the American dream. After working 3 jobs and trying to get through College, I made the decision to "give up" my art and finished my B.A in Business Management and Marketing and assumed I would start a career in corporate America. Little did I know things would change unexpectedly and life would somehow give me another opportunity to dedicate my life to what I truly love.
I met my dear husband, Steve, three years ago and I'm now pregnant with my first child, Ethan. I created this website with the hopes of pursuing what I like to call "Paintivism" by bringing together Art and philanthropy and capturing the essence of current issues through my art. The idea is to bring a journalistic view to art and use it to help the organizations tackling today's global issues.
All artwork is for sale unless noted otherwise. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to non-profit organizations of my choice that are related to the topic of the artwork or issue. So If you love art and want to contribute to a cause, invite your friends, browse around, and help me help out!
