Colleen Flynn Crutchfield, Princeton Member Since October 2010 Artist Statement First photography was just a hobby of mine, but it's actually something in recent months that I've really gotten into. I most enjoy just going on open roads of New Jersey with my camera and just seeing what I can capture out in the country.
One thing I have noticed with my photography (and has been observed by others" is that my style is very "up close and personal." With my Ireland Series you can really understand what I mean. For the most part all the pictures are very close up on their subjects. Had I not said that these photographs were part of this series, one could possibly think it was somewhere else. That's the feeling I get with my photographs because the subject is shot so close, you get to ponder about the surroundings. If gets you thinking about not only the subject matter, but gets you outside the photograph as well.
