Description St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church has a long history in New York. It was originally founded in January of 1835 in the then fashionable Bowery section of lower Manhattan. In 1872 a new church was built at Madison Avenue and 44th Street and it moved to its present location at Park Avenue and 50th Street in 1918. It is a Manhattan landmark. Original photo.
