Description A pen and ink colored rendition representing St. Bernard Parish, it's traditions, landmarks and culture. St. Bernard was totally underwater in 2005 after Hurricane Katrina, and is still recovering.
Elaine Hodges, Violet, LA Member Since June 2009 Artist Statement I am a self-taught artist, and love painting and creating just about anything. Most of my subjects are from everyday life, and living near New Orleans, I enjoy the depicting the flavor and culture of the area. I have sold my items in gift shops and art and craft stores over the years, and also online, including my website, www.creativemoods.com. I have also enjoyed designing patterns for magazines. I have finally gotten back to painting, having to start from scratch since Hurricane Katrina devastated our home town in St.Bernard Parish. It feels good to be creating again.
