DescriptionA rare view of Mt St Helen's, this being the South East face, but even more on this particular morning the sun was completely hidden. I stayed on point, so to speak, for nearly 4 hours until a few seconds, honestly, of sun raced down the slope and quickly disappeared. It was this momentary light which produced a shot in a million. I have been back many times and don't think I'll ever get quite this light again. But it was clear that a real storm was about to explode. Within minutes of my shot the wind blew fiercely and the sky darkened. This is actually a color shot, however it has no color in it that is discernable.
