Artist Statement Growing up, laser beams never shot from my eyes, so I knew I couldn't be a super hero. Architect, I thought. Then someone told me about the math. I had to choose something else. Photojournalist seemed like a fine profession, and the math, people said, was fairly simple--some addition, some ratios and percents. Something I could do. I picked up a camera then, my senior year of high school, and immediately fell in love. A singular, unfortunate darkroom incident soured me, and I packed up the camera for good.

Twenty years later, I have rediscovered photography. So this is me. I take photographs. They're usually pretty good if there's food involved. I hope to get better with people and buildings.
