Artist Statement Hello, my name is Paul Dickinson. I was born in 1968 and have lived in the Northallerton/Ripon areas of North Yorkshire (England) all my life.

I have always been interested in photography, but it wasn't until the age of 18 that I acquired my first "serious" camera courtesy of my parents for my eighteenth birthday. This camera was a Pentax P30 Film camera. Although limited in functionality compared to today's cameras, it provided me with the perfect platform to start experimenting in the fascinating world of photography.

The following years were a steady learning curve, yielding some disappointments, but also many very rewarding results. Although my passion is landscape photography, I like to experiment in other areas, such as macro, nature and wildlife. The wonderful thing with taking photographs is that you are always learning, always in search of that perfect shot. Luckily, the world is full of opportunities to satisfy a creative mind.

My most recent camera is a Nikon D200 digital SLR bolstered with two Nikon lenses to cover mid and long range subjects, and a Sigma ultra wide angle lens allowing me to portray the world from a different perspective. Purchasing the D200 has allowed me to enter into the digital revolution offering me 10.2 megapixels of digital canvas to capture immersive and colourful images of the world around me. Even after all these years, the adventure continues and I hope by viewing my work on this website, you can share the adventure with me.
