Description These steps lead you down to the Ferry Glen, a wooded area with a stream, a small waterfall and a lovely walkway. Shot taken on Christmas Eve, 2009.Snow (other than the short lived inch or so) has become increasingly rare at this latitude in Scotland over the last 20 years, so it is nice to see a decent fall of snow, even if it does cause chaos to our transport systems. The area was very overgrown and virtually inaccessible for many years, but the local council have recently done a wonderful job of opening up the glen to the public. The glen runs right through the middle of South Queensferry, Lothian Region, Scotland, though you would never know you were in a town.
Tom Gomez, South Queensferry, Nr Edinburgh, Scotland, UK Member Since July 2009 Artist Statement I live about 10 miles from Edinburgh (the capital city of Scotland).
I’m very lucky to live in a country which is mostly unspoiled, unpolluted and stunningly beautiful.
I have been photographing my surroundings, home and abroad, for about as long as I can remember. These days I use a digital camera. The convenience of this mode of photography makes my passion even more of a pleasure than it used to be.
