Description What can I say? I like to eat. I also like to prepare food. Occasionally, a dish that I prepare, usually a very simple one, will live up to the statement, 'It looks to good to eat.' This dish, strawberries and mango, was a prime example.
The recipe couldn't be simpler: slice strawberries; dice mango; throw in a bowl and add some white sugar; let sit for a day and a half; taste and adjust the sugar. The sugar is important for two reasons: 1. strawberries tend to be tart and it sweetens them and 2. it draws the juice out of the strawberries and coats the pieces of mango, allowing the flavors to blend together.
