The board was underpainted in bright orange Neocolor II watersoluble pastels before applying the pastels. The painting is from a resource phot taken just outside Cabo San Lucas at a charming, sunny and colorful little restaurant. Cynthia Haase, Littleton Member Since December 2008 Artist Statement I am a fiber artist and a fine artist living southwest of Denver, CO along the front range of the Rockies.
My art study has been mostly self-directed. I have studied drawing, oil painting, watercolor, pastels, and composition with some very fine artists. I love the creative process but have settled on working in colored pencil and pastels...sometimes together.
I continue to quilt and create fiber art, sometimes creating traditional quilting items, and my favorite, art quilts.
My work has been shown locally and regionally garnering many awards. I have also shown my work in international exhibits.
I am the President of the Lakewood Arts Council which serves Jefferson County, CO and the national Membership Director of the Colored Pencil Society of America.
I was juried into the International Guild of Realism in 2006, showing in the second IGOR show at Manitou Galleries in Santa Fe.
