Description The allure and lore of Okefenokee, has inspired movie makers, novelists, artists, and storytellers alike. A favorite monster, The Creature of the Black Lagoon was reportedly inspired by visits to the Okefenokee. In the past, swamps have been portrayed as gloomy, dismal, foreboding and mysterious places to fear and avoid. Now days a lot of us have evolved beyond misconceptions, to possess an enlightened understanding of what a swamp is and does. Certain mysterious attributes may be appreciated as sublimely unique, unusual and highly enchanting. Historically, man journeyed to the desert, the mountains or the sea, for inspiration to seek answers. Mankind just may have overlooked this primordial nexus, the nursery of life on our planet. Numerous extraordinary events have occurred and continually seem to pop up in and around the Okefenokee.http://www.okefenokee.com/okefenokee_xfiles.html
Ginette Callaway, Lovejoy Member Since March 2007 Artist Statement I am an independent, self supporting artist, working full time on my art. Full time means about on average 12 hours a day seven days a week. This is how I pay my bills. However I absolutely love what I do. Creating art consumes me. I paint original art with oil paints, watercolors, also ink and pastel. Additionally I use the photos of my art or scans to create mixed media, where I use digital tools to layer texture or change the colors of these original paintings. Not a day goes by where I don't create something new.
If you want an original painted just for you, contact me. I take requests on my website.
My website is ginettecallaway.com
I was born in Alsace France and from childhood on, I had Art and a Love for Nature and beauty in my blood. In my younger years I traveled and saw a bit of the world. After moving to the Unites States I became a full time artist with collectors from all over the world.
