Description The search for God is sometimes difficult. Here is a story of one search ... Once upon a time there was a person who searched for God. It seemed like a great way to find the truth of the world. She searched for a very long time and sometimes she didnt believe that God could ever be found. One day as she searched, she saw a little light. It grew brighter and brighter as she traveledSoon she found herself in a very bright place. The light became so bright that she could barely keep her eyes open. As she looked around she realized her coat was torn and her face was dirty and she had lost her sandals somewhere along the way; but the light also revealed that she was loved. She stood there for a while surrounded by a warmth she hadnt felt in a long time and she decided to take the light with her. But as she turned, the light lessened and soon she found herself groping in darkness again. Searching as she had in the beginning, remembering that she had to try, she forced herself to retrace her steps. The way was hard and she didnt believe at times that she deserved to find the light again. But all searching is rewarded. And when a person knocks at the door of heaven, that door always opens. After many days, even as the light began again to warm her ever so slightly, she knew she would turn away over and over, but now she also knew the way home.
Anne Selleck, Manistee Michigan Member Since November 2008 Artist Statement I am a watercolor painter. My paintings are usually inspired by something I've read. I love philosophy, stories, fables, the Bible, theology etc. and have a hard time getting out of a book store empty handed.
Most of my paintings have stories that go with them and you'll find the stories in the description area next to each painting. As I've observed people look at my paintings, I've noticed that reading the stories adds to their enjoyment of the art. Sometimes it is fun to have an inside look at the beginnings (or endings) of a piece of art.
Feel free to create your own stories. I hope you enjoy this small journey of spirit!
