Description Folklore has it that witches can take human form. If so, what reflection might a werecat see while stirring up the mysteries of the dark, watery cauldron? This is an artist-altered version of an original photograph by Marsha Carson.
Marsha Carson Member Since November 2010 Artist Statement The home of Marsha Carson and her husband is warmed by the resident dog and cats who, along with their foster rooster, have inspired many a photograph. Though Marsha especially enjoys photographing wildlife and landscapes; in her collection you’ll also discover national landmarks, flora, domesticated animals as well as abstract works.
Utilizing a fresh concept created by Photo Art by Carson Heaton, much of the abstract work presented involves the placement of one or more original photos within a framed area, creating interesting and sometimes perplexing juxtapositions.
The resulting photographic compositions are referred to as “Photo Quilts”. They are created by piecing together Photo Art’s original photographs to achieve satisfying color or geometric patterns much like one would use to accomplish a fabric quilt.
While work is performed on a computer; no computer program that “does the work for you” is employed. Each Photo Quilt is individually hand-quilted.
Marsha invites you to enjoy her Photo Art and hope you find it to be thought provoking and perhaps inspiring. Best of all - maybe you'll find a smile!
