Artist Statement I was born on February 23rd, 1971, in the city of Saratoga Springs, N.Y.. I achieved college success in athletics for West Virginia University as a scholarship cross country and track runner and became notable at the university with various successes in exhibitions. Some of my notable collaborations is working as an artist and webmaster for Susan Polgar, former Women's World Chess Champion and Chess Olympiad Gold Medalist and having had stories about my chess collection published by Frederic Friedel.

In 1979, age 8, I had my first exhibition at Dayspring Gallery in Saratoga Springs and made my first sale of an original lithograph. In 1981, I won first place in the New York State public education art show representing the 4th grade for my stained glass design piece. In 1986, under the direction of artist Robert Green, I finished in the top three at a college exhibition in Canfield Casino. In 1987, I entered the school cross country team, and in 1988 became the top runner for the New York State Champion Cross Country Team, which won both the Federation and State titles, and was ranked nationally in the top 5.

In 1989, I was accepted into the graphic design and advanced drawing programs of West Virginia University with a grant for art, and a partial scholarship for cross country running and track & field. I studied under professors Ben Freedman and Chris Hockings. I also had a one year apprenticeship with sculptor Noah Savett, working on monumental sculptures.

In 2006, The Concealed Fate of an Imminent Surrender, a work from my Chess Collection, was signed by the top players from the Mayor's Cup Chess Tournament in NYC, the highest ranked round robin tournament in U.S. History. Work will go to auction to support the Susan Polgar Foundation. In late 2004, I decided to launch my business Imaginative Pencil to sell framed art prints of my work and other products.

I have worked with former World Chess Champion and Chess Olympiad Gold Medalist Susan Polgar as her full time web Designer, web master, and artist. I created the logo for the Susan Polgar Foundation, as well as the cover for the Mayor's Cup Super Chess Tournament — the highest rated round robin tournament in United States history. I also works with West Virginia Public Broadcasting as a designer and artist for the show EclecTopia.
