Description This poster is for sale without any mark-up by the artist to encourage protesters easier access to using it as a tool for solidarity. Many Americans are aware that the United States is not a democracy but a 'corporatocracy.' We are nation ruled by the partnership of giant corporations with a government that no longer represents its people. A government that solely represents the exceptionally wealthy elite through corporate collaboration and lobbyists. Such tyranny is not enough to set most of us free to take action. Many of us have become pacified by corporatocracy-created institutions and culture. Some activists insist that this passivity is caused by ignorance due to corporate media propaganda. Others claim that political passivity is caused by the inability to organize due to a lack of money. However, polls show that with the important issues of our day - senseless wars, Wall Street bailouts, corporate tax-dodging, and health insurance rip-offs - the majority of Americans are not ignorant to the reality that they have become like indentured servants on a vast plantation without the freedom to share in their masters unfairly earned prosperity. And American history abounds with organizational examples - from the Underground Railroad, to the Great Populist Revolt, to the Flint sit-down strike, to the wildcat strikes a generation ago - when successful rebels with little money, lots of guts, and solidarity regained their freedom and representation. The elite spend their lives stockpiling money and have the financial clout to bribe, divide and conquer the rest of us. The only way to begin overcoming the power of money is with the power of courage and solidarity. The protest against corporatocracy has begun. Digital image
