Description A story is told in the Bible about a farmer who went out to sow seed. Some fell on rocky ground and weeds grew up and choked the new plants. Some fell on hard ground and the birds came along and ate it all. Some fell on shallow ground where the new plants rooted but soon died in the heat of the sun. And some fell on fertile ground and the plants grew strongSometimes we are like the plants. We hear a great truth but were sleeping and miss the point, or were distracted, not paying attention to the greatness around us. And sometimes we get it, but then forget it! But sometimes we do understand and apply the truth to our life and great things grow and flower from our understanding. Its hard to stay awake all the time, but in those brief moments when truth shines through, we know were a part of a great mystery.
Anne Selleck, Grand Haven, Mi Member Since November 2008 Artist Statement I am a watercolor painter. My paintings are usually inspired by something I've read. I love philosophy, stories, fables, the Bible, theology etc. and have a hard time getting out of a book store empty handed.
Most of my paintings have stories that go with them and you'll find the stories in the description area next to each painting. As I've observed people look at my paintings, I've noticed that reading the stories adds to their enjoyment of the art. Sometimes it is fun to have an inside look at the beginnings (or endings) of a piece of art.
