Artist Statement A little about me…. My name is Joseph Sparks, and I have been playing with cameras for about 20 years. My photographs are usually taken to try and capture a mood or feeling that I am experiencing at that moment in time, and I hope that by capturing them, someone else might be able to look at them and share that feeling.

Some of my influences include Wasilly Kandisky, O. Winston Link, Dennis Hopper (yes, he's also an actor), and more recently Trey Ratcliff and Kris Kros who have really inspired me to think outside the box and try some new styles with my camera.

Nikon is my choice of gear simply because that’s what I have and it seems fairly rugged. For now I am shooting with a D50 camera and several different Nikon lenses. My favorite tools are my rock-solid and bomb-proof Manfrotto tripod and my wide angle lens, both of which I use on 90 percent of my shots.
