Description An archetypal view of Swaledale taken near Gunnerside, in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The photograph features the barns and dry stone walls which are so typical of the area. (Featured in Cumbria Life Magazine, July 2010)
Dave Lawrance, Cumbria Member Since October 2010 Artist StatementWelcome to my Imagekind gallery featuring UK landscape photography, especially of the of the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks in Northern England.
I started photography around 30 years ago, and became interested in landscape photography after seeing the work of Derry Brabbs in ”James Herriot’s Yorkshire”. I then concentrated on monochrome photography for a while, aided by being able to use a darkroom at work, before returning to colour (35mm and medium format film), later “going digital”.
I have had work featured in leading UK photographic magazines, I am a contributor to Alamy & UKLandscape (on-line image libraries), and recently had a landscape photograph chosen for the prestigious “Winter Exposed” exhibition at Kew Gardens, London.
