Jenny Wertheimer Member Since January 2011 Artist Statement I am a young artist who works from textures and interesting sights found in my surroundings, I am always striving to be creative and imaginative. I have finished a foundation course in art and I am a first year student studying Fine Art degree course at Leeds Metropolitan. My inspiration comes mainly from textural interesting surfaces, as well as people and my surroundings. This can vary from looking at an object or image and creating abstract ideas with lots of experimentation until I come out with a visually interesting idea. Once I have this then I can then develop and expand into various pieces of art work. From the majority of my small works I create photographs which I see as abstract photography.I also I enjoy using a variety of materials, anything I can get my hands on. I like to experiment with acrylic, wax and latex which let me work to create 3D surfaces, this combined with colour leads to varying results. My camera is another very useful tool for me as it helps me to record everything and anything that interests me to create inspiration as well as interesting images which I use as pieces of photography work. Everyday life motivates me to create work from the most simple to the most intriguing of art.
