Description She wakes up and sees the boy lying on her bed, his head slightly leaned to the back, showing his uncovered neck. The girl's head transforms into a tiger head. She carefully takes his neck into her mouth. She does not bite him or hurt him.The palette contains 'agressive' colours: mostly blood red, deep orange, black and saturated yellow. The tiger's spoken words are written over his head while the boy's intime thoughts are written inside his head. A sleeping child inside the boy's head (reference to Egon Schiele) and the words 'still a kid deep in his soul' allude to innocence. The image is contrasting innocence and gentleness to erotism and agressivity. The size of the original is 19.7 in x 15.7 in (50x40cm).
Ina Mar, Munich, Germany Member Since June 2007 Artist Statement In 2001 I created my first experimental series called "Lightcurves", where I transformed the body into landscape through lighting effects and accessory objects. Since 2001, I have been exploring the notion of metamorphosis and hybridism, mixing media and transforming the representational into abstract, through lighting effects, shooting techniques (such as "traveling" of the camera) or photomanipulation.
My more recent works explore surrealism and the irrationality of dreams and emotions, using a mixed technique: photo, photomanipulation, pencil or ink drawing on paper, paper collage, digital painting... I don't use stock images - my material is "home made": I use my own digital photographs, vintage objects, drawings and textures, collected through years of travels. Most of the fonts are "home made" too - handwritten or "recomposed" using fragments of old letters and notes.
Favourite subjects: the human body, the human mind and the natural environment.
