SylverFoust, USA Member Since December 2006 Artist Statement Desiree SylverFoust is a native Washingtonian and her interest in art began when she watched her father draw her and doodle on every napkin in the house. As a child, she was encouraged to make and appreciate art by her family. She appreciates newsworthy and documentary photographs from the Internet and re-invents them as paintings. Her subjects are the content of these found images, and the photograph itself as cultural artifact self-educated abstractionist, figure painter.
As a child she always painted on everything from, newspapers, maps and canvas. Desiree currently enjoys making life over with her paint bush into bright colors.
Using acrylic paint D. SylverFoust creates pieces that represents bodies, motion, feeling, and movement in life. Her art is also heavily influenced by her love of music as many of her piece portrays some type of musical instrument, music note or people dancing.
