Description This brick building located in what has become the 'historic district' in a small town in northwest Florida was refurbished to accomodate a toy store. The brick construction gives a unique textural depth and design to give the building character. This scene was captured in the morning hours when the shadows enhanced the design and the building across the street is reflected in the store front windows. Oil on canvas 20 X 16 in.
Scott Shiffer Member Since August 2007 Artist Statement Born in the United States. Living and traveling throughout the United States and to many foreign places has given a special opportunity to appreciate a variety of cultural arts. Spending years in Asia, the Pacific islands, and later Europe has given me a greater appreciation of the ebb and flow of life around our world. The echoes of cultural experiences have a strong influence of my work. For decades, studying in the studios of life, my art is but an expression of life.
