Description This particular picture belongs to the Triangulation Series. While experimenting with harmonic oscillation in Processing and Scriptographer I discovered the Lissajous Oscillation where two waves interfere with each other so that a new modulated wave develops.
This is getting very interesting aesthetically when every point is connected with a all other points nearby, kind of a triangulation which is overlapping. I got very organic looking pictures that look like virtual grass leaves in a slow, natural flow.
I then applied purple, blue and green colors and color gradients which support that natural flow so that it looks like the static picture is animated. The gray background balances the leaves in a nice calming and comforting way.
Michael T. Maeder, Arbon Member Since February 2010 Artist Statement My name is Michael T. Maeder and I am currently located in a cozy apartment in Arbon, Switzerland plugging away at design and art work. I am a professional graphic designer and art director who studied at the School of Design in St.Gallen, Switzerland and at the Design Department at Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA, USA.
I’m interested in all kinds of art, especially generative art, colorful, modern interior and product design and the connection between audible or visible art and technology, which influences you can see in my portfolio.
At the moment I'm experimenting a lot with generative tools, patterns and brushes like Scriptographer and Processing as you can see in the galleries.
