Description I painted this in Protest of H.R. 2112. A Spending appropriation bill that was just signed by President Obama, paving the way to start slaughtering horses for human consumption in the US.This is unthinkable to me and million of others. Most American do not eat horse meat no more then we would eat our cats or dogs. This is all about Money to be made by a few investors who have lobbies politicians, to get this bill passed one way or the other. They did this by embedding it in to H.R. 2112. Selling horse flesh to Japan and Belgium among a few countries where Horse meat is a delicatessen is big Money. These pro horse slaughter lobbies use the argument of 'There are too many horses something needs to be done' and It will create Jobs and revenue. If the measure for doing something like slaughtering horses or not is that it will create jobs and create revenue, that I suggest we start legalizing drugs and prostitution. Both would create many more jobs and billions in revenue and does not include slaughtering a being that has carried us around on his/her back for centuries. Legalizing Prostitution alone would create more jobs and revenues then horse slaughter ever can. But then this is not about feeding the hungry or creating jobs or dealing with too many horses. This is about a few investors wanting to get rich of making horses a Livestock! Ban Horse Slaughter.
Ginette Callaway, Lovejoy Member Since March 2007 Artist Statement My main body of work consists of my Original Paintings in Oil & Watercolor and some Acrylics. You will also find modern graphic designs and abstract art. Before picking up the brush and getting myself messy with paint, my ultimate passion, I worked in graphic designs. On occasion I still like to sit in my design studio using my graphics software to create, it's a whole different approach. I incorporate parts of my original paintings or alter them to get something totally different.
I was born in Alsace France and from childhood on, I had Art and a Love for Nature and beauty in my blood. In my younger years I traveled and saw a bit of the world. After moving to the Unites States I became a full time artist with collectors from all over the world.
