Description The Devils Marbles are an 1800 hectare reserve of rounded granite boulders in Central Australia, approximately 400kms North of Alice springs. This is an amazing area of large, precariously balanced rocks that have the gorgeous glow of the Red Centre at dawn and dusk. This particular pair of Marbles had a delightfully small, but perfectly formed, Ghost Gum growing by them through little more than a tuft of Spinnafex grass.
David Humphreys, Melbourne Member Since June 2007 Artist Statement Originally from the U.K., I relocated to the Southern Hemisphere in 1993. This beautiful, diverse and relatively strange new environment rekindled my interest in photography and the transfer to digital capture proved to be an added fillip.
I find photography the perfect excuse for getting outside and savouring the beauty of this world after a reasonably drastic change in lifestyle from rural to urban.
