DescriptionThis two were part of a butterfly rescue and ran out of food as caterpillars. Efforts were made to find the host plant which had to be shipped in. These two hours freshly born monarchs were released into our world on Valentines day. I hope these two helped to make our world a more beautiful place. It's the little things that make a difference.
Jean Broese, Redondo Beach, CA Member Since March 2008 Artist Statement I specialize in hand raised butterfly photography and custom artwork for special occasions. Formerly a Walt Disney Imagineer, with successful career in Industrial Engineering. I since have redirected my 9 years of technical experience into a full time mom of 2 boys. My photography career started along with motherhood. My husband bought himself a expensive digital camera and he never saw it since. I then blurred the artist within me with the chores of nurturing life itself. I wanted to share a childhood passion with my boys, of raising butterflies, which requires organic gardens to support the butterlies. Then it requires watchfull eye to hatching them in your home. I now have a large body of work from my studies and great stories about them. I do not disrupt the life of these creatures rather protect them. All of my Butterflies are released into the world shortly after being born, in hopes to add beauty to the world. Sometimes I find myself involved in rescuing butterflies and have had some lay themselves out on my path for me to help them. I wonder how they know to do that? I have hopes that some day maybe Redondo Beach will be known for the home of the butterflies.
